Simon Nicholls
With 25 years experience in the telecommunications industry, Simon Nicholls is at the leading edge of the internet and eCommerce waves. From the early days of the internet to 1999 Simon was an influential evangelist in the emerging development of eCommerce across the UK and Europe. Being a key advocate from the outset of the use of the internet as a tool for online trade, Simon Nicholls was influential in the early adoption of internet trading models by a number of blue chip multinational corporations. From 1999 to the founding of biz-E People Simon was Head of Content for BT’s business to business eTrading portfolio. Based on products from CommerceOne, Infobank, Intershop, Intel and I2 Simon lead the creation of the UK market leading content set. A respected authority on content issues, his views are frequently quoted in articles on content management and supplier adoption.

A member of ConnectONCE (formerly the Global Trading Web Association) from its conception, and influential in the formulation of its statutes, in June 2000 Simon Nicholls became chairman of the service levels working group. As chair he directed the creation and adoption of the worlds first ever standards for levels of service between GTWA members.

Before moving into the field of the internet Simon worked at BT Labs in Martlesham Heath, Suffolk, UK in the field of Optical Fibre communications, concentrating on fibre coupling and termination techniques.

Simon lives in rural Suffolk, with his wife and two grown up children and 2 dogs and is a lay minister in the Church of England
